Feature

Three privacy levels. You control every entry.

Every entry has a privacy level. Shared: included in the weekly reveal. Private: only you see it, forever. Unsend: write it, process it, and it never leaves your phone. The 'unsend' journal is for the things that are too raw to share — anger, hurt, resentment — that you need to get out before deciding what to bring to the check-in.

How it works

1

Write your entry

Capture what's on your mind, just like any journal.

2

Choose the privacy level

Shared (revealed on check-in day), Private (only you, forever), or Unsend (process and release — never leaves your phone).

3

Change your mind anytime

Before the reveal, you can switch an entry's privacy level. Unsend entries can be promoted to private or shared.

Why this matters

Not everything should be shared. Sometimes you need to write the angry version first, process it, and then write the version you actually want your partner to read. The unsend journal gives you that space. It's the journaling equivalent of writing an email and not hitting send.

How Open Heart compares

No other couples app offers three privacy levels per entry. Paired and Lasting assume everything you write will be seen by your partner. Open Heart gives you control over what gets shared and what stays private.

Common questions

Can my partner see my private entries?

No. Private entries are stored locally on your device. They're never synced, never shared, never visible to anyone but you.

What happens to unsend entries?

They stay on your device until you delete them. They're never encrypted for sync, never uploaded, never leave your phone.

Can I change an entry from private to shared?

Yes, before the reveal. Once entries are revealed, they can't be un-revealed.
